Vis à Vis Restaurant and Lounge: Exquisite Russian-French Fusion Dining in Brooklyn

The food, ambiance, service, quality overall is top notch. Let’s break it down. An exceptional experience from start to finish. The ambiance is upscale yet vibrant, making it perfect for a date night or a fun dinner with friends with music and dancing — all in one place. We had a bigger party so tried a few things. The appetizers were high end - I’d definitely order the lobster rolls again, oysters, the octopus, insane. For the mains, the steak / meat platter, all cooked to perfection. For the fish, we ordered 3 dishes - bronzino, halibut, and salmon. All very well prepared, presentation was great (you eat with your eyes first). The menu was great, something for everyone. For dessert — the panna cotta was light and delicious, we ordered the molten chocolate cake, rich and decadent! The dessert sampler was incredible, and even the fresh fruit platter was delicious. Service was excellent and attentive throughout. Absolutely worth the trip. Why go to a restaurant and then a lounge when you have both in one spot. Definitely coming back!

The atmosphere here is absolutely stunning—easily a 5-star experience for the decor and vibe alone. It’s the perfect spot to hang out or take photos. The food and service were both pretty average (3 stars each), so while they didn't blow me away, the overall environment makes it a solid 4-star visit.

Beautiful place with a warm, cozy interior. The staff were wonderful and very attentive—everything came out quickly and right on time. The food was delicious, from the salads to the hot and cold appetizers. Portions aren’t large but definitely enough. I didn’t personally enjoy the sauce on the skirt steak, though the meat itself was very good. The music was excellent as well—the DJ did a great job, and the playlist was spot-on. My only small suggestion would be to add a few short quiet breaks. Overall, a very nice experience.

Had such a great time at this spot! The food was so good—we tried the chili-smoked shrimp with celery root purée and the eggplant burrata salad, and both dishes seriously hit the spot. The shrimp had that perfect kick, and the purée was super smooth and flavorful. The salad? Fresh, creamy, and just plain delicious. The service was absolutely amazing. Our waiter Alexander was not only super friendly and attentive, but also genuinely made us feel comfortable and well taken care of the whole evening—such a pro! The bartender Anton really impressed us too—his energy, creativity, and attention to detail were next level. I had a mango margarita, and I’m not even joking—it was the best one I’ve had in six months. And I love margaritas, so that says a lot. Manager Stas was incredibly kind and checked on us during the evening, which was such a thoughtful touch. And the hostess Anastasia welcomed us with such a warm, friendly vibe—it really set the tone for a perfect night. Definitely coming back. Great food, great drinks, and an amazing team that truly knows how to make guests feel special.

Vis-à-Vis is absolutely outstanding! The steak was cooked to perfection — tender, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. The drinks were top-notch, expertly crafted and beautifully presented. On top of that, the service was exceptional — attentive, friendly, and professional from start to finish. A fantastic dining experience all around — can’t wait to come back!

Celebrated my 30th birthday here.. everything was outstanding. The service was excellent, we never had to wait for anything, waiters were constantly serving us food, cleaning, and not to mention it was packed in there with every table booked. The vibe is super cute, like typical Russian banquet spots. However I must say, the food was fantastic everything was super fresh and delicious and portions were huge. Compared to the usual south Brooklyn spots like level, wise, etc… this was much more memorable, felt more personable and every one of my guests agreed! Definitely will be coming back for many more celebrations.

Dining at Vis-a-Vis is always a delightful experience from start to finish. The food is exceptional ( must try Foie Gras!), the staff attentive, and the ambiance is perfect for a whole evening being there. Great music with the best DJ’s! Highly recommended!
